Charming historic stay with delicious breakfast

I really loved the character of this historic building, especially the impressive stone staircase leading to the rooms. The cozy sitting area in our room was a perfect touch, and breakfast was memorable with a delightful array of local products, including a wonderful apple tart. Just a heads up, the parking situation can be a bit tight, so plan accordingly!

The superior room was spacious with a cozy atmosphere , featuring beautiful historic architecture that added a warm character to my stay. The breakfast offered a delightful view of the Loire River while showcasing a variety of fresh local ingredients. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating during check-in and throughout my visit, contributing positively to my experience.

The parking area felt quite limited and could benefit from better organization.

Staying in an ancient abbey was a unique experience. I appreciated the comfortable main bed, though the secondary bed could have been firmer. Overall, it was a lovely spot for our one-night stay, especially since it was pet-friendly, making it a perfect stop for our family.

My stay at Grand Hotel De L'Abbaye was delightful, especially the spacious room with its high beamed ceiling providing a unique charm. The breakfast was exceptional, showcasing local products and offered a lovely view of the Loire River from the dining area.

The parking area is quite small and difficult to navigate!!! The absence of air conditioning made my stay uncomfortably warm at night!!! Noise from outside traffic was surprisingly disruptive, especially with no soundproofing!!!

My wife says that the bathroom needed some updates to improve comfort.

The Economic Room was cozy and had its quirks, like the toilet being on a different level, which added to its unique charm. The bed was really comfortable, and I loved the character of the room with traditional furnishings. The restoration was well done, but keep in mind there’s no air conditioning, so it can get a bit warm in hot weather. Plus, the traffic noise was noticeable when the window was open.
